Bichon PairIn her great book, Confessions of Shameless Self-Promoters, author Debbie Allen shares a story about a pet shop that gives away free puppies.

Yep, they give the puppies away for free knowing that the new owners will spend a good deal of money right on the spot to buy high-profit food, treats, leashes, collars, grooming aids, training books and anything else one would need when bringing a new puppy home for the first time.

They also know that they will likely have a customer for life because they’ll keep coming back for more food, shampoo, treats, and other consumables relating to owning a dog.

I’ve long preached that giving away your best stuff is the very best way to get people to hire you. For starters, let’s be honest, don’t you feel a certain sense of obligation to anyone who gives you something for free? Even if that’s only a few minutes of your time?

I tell my clients all the time that you’ll likely do more good with your marketing than you’ll ever be able to do serving clients. What I mean by that is that most people won’t hire you, but by sending out really valuable educational marketing materials, you’ll be able to help the masses solve their problems.

And out of the masses, those people who are your ideal most perfect clients will show up to hire you.
And they’ll do that partly out of appreciation for your generosity. It’s the law of reciprocity at work.

So as an online marketer, the best (and easiest) way for you to give a gift and to showcase your expertise at the same time is to give away an ebook or a special report to people who sign up for your email marketing list.

And while your words are the most important part, your ebook or report really has to look good, too. I’d be delighted to dress up your ebook so that it looks not only awesome and professional, but fabulous as well.

Find out how you can get your own Fabulously Awesome Ebook, discover how surprisingly affordable it can be, and see some of the work I’ve done for other people.

Many thanks!
