Congratulations and Thank You
for taking the Follow-Up
Click to Download the: Follow-Up Procrastination Worksheet
Print it out, then follow these steps:
Step 1: List the top 5 people you want to connect and follow-up with along with their phone numbers.
Step 2. Choose the top name from this list that you most want to follow-up with.
Step 3: Decide what you want to say to this person when you call them. (It is often helpful if you write this down so you don’t just hem and haw or stammer when you get them on the line.)
Step 4: Pick up the phone and call them within the next 45-minutes
Step 5: Send an email to me at firstname.lastname@example.org and tell me the result of your follow-up phone call.
Tip: You are not calling this person to try to sell them anything. This is strictly a follow-up “get to know you better” call. One of the best reasons for following up with someone is to find out how you can best serve them by giving them referrals. Find out who their target market is and who their ideal client is. Make it friendly, make it short, tell them you’d like to stay in touch, and take it from there.
All the best,
Marty “The Follow-Up Man” Marsh
P. S. At first, your phone may feel like it weighs a hundred pounds, but once you make that first call, you’re going to be so exhilarated that you’ll want to call the next person on your list and the next and the next.
Following-Up, whether by phone or other means, just gets easier the more you do it.
I’m looking forward to hearing your results. Be sure to tell me how things went by sending me an email.
Thanks and best wishes for real success!
